Our largest cat lies asleep
snoring loudly upon settee
I am fresh off the end
of our oldest bong
lying on the carpet
foam-roller widthwise, dorsal
thoracic stretch with full-abs sets
Inhale snore
lay spine back over arc, it’s a bike chain
Exhale snore
Engage core, relax flexors
Rise up, serpent-like
I sleep warm cushion
Snore inhale
is scratch sound a mouse?
Snore exhale
loud creak, look up
slow, silent breaths
I sleep warm cushion
smell of fish cookie
small person behind couch
she does a long breath.
This is a poem in two voices; my inner thoughts, and Toe’s.
